Notes Pertaining to this Inventory

Bottling Houses: Although bottling houses may be listed in other pages in this work they are not listed in this regional count page.

Brewery Capacity: This work does not tabulate the capacity of the breweries.

Brewery Employees: This work does not have the number of employees for breweries except for a very limited few.

Brewpubs: Brewpubs are recognized in this work having been formed during or after 1986. Breweries serving “in-house” prior to National Prohibition are not recognized as such. Brewpubs were not in operation from 1920 to 1986.

There are three classifications for brewpubs:

Brewery Pub – The brewery and restaurant are owned by the same parent and has a state license (GP) to serve the beer brewed on premise.

Tied House – The brewery and restaurant are owned by the same parent company but there is no state license to operate as a brewpub. The appearance of a brewery within a restaurant gives the notion of a brewery-pub.

Pending Pub – The brewery has a state license to both brew beer (G) and operate a restaurant as a brewpub (GP) but does not currently have a restaurant.

Malt Houses: Although malt houses may be listed in other pages in this work they are not listed in this regional count page.
